Artist Craig Alan often uses small figures in his paintings to create the faces of pop-culture icons, including this piece featuring Audrey Hepburn (via art expo). Very clever we think you'll agree.

In these days when it seems socially unacceptable to pull out a pack of cigs and spark up, TankBooks have taken the design classic that is the flip-top cigarette pack and used it to house some pretty classic literature. The cartons have silver foil inner wrapping and are sealed in cellophane. We like this level of detail. It'd definitely be acceptable to get these out down Our local.

OurKid's got Kafka. Mainly because its about a man who becomes a beetle. Turns out they've cleverly got two books in one little box.

If you buy the whole series they come in a tin, sadly not a Golden Virginia tin, but still good.

We gave Our Jean the evening off from her cooking duties yesterdee and treated her to some wining and dining at one of those new fangled pop-up restaurants.

The anti-Valentine's dinner was held at Mouse & DeLotz and was well worth the trip east.

Our Jean did hersen proud once more with this Sunday lunch. Ok, we were promised a roast at 4 and we got a stew at 7 but it was a bloody good stew. Beef, carrots and a super rich gravy even Mrs Bisto would be proud of.

All served with mashed root vegetables and peas with lemon juice, oooh get her!

Just to top off the meal, and to finish us off, there were some amazing home-made yorkshires, yes, that's right home-made. She blames the oven for there slightly caramelised exterior, we say make them again, you obvs need the practise.

She went for a rustic presentation, she tells us its all the rage in them fancy cookery mags she's always reading.

So turns out chewing gum sculpture is a recognised art form, who'd have thunked it?

Here's some work from Maurizio Savini, an Italian sculpture who works exclusively in chewing gum. OurKid's amazed and has gone out on a mission to buy up London's supply of Hubba Bubba.

So OurKid loves miniature things, art and being grossed out. Turns out there's an artist who's right up her street. Ben Wilson paints discarded chewing gum that he finds on pavements.

Here are a few examples of his older work.

If this tickles your fancy you go to the beeb you can watch him in action. Or alternatively start pounding the pavements between East India DLR to Trinity Buoy Wharf and keep your eyes peeled for his fascinating trail that was part of his latest exhibition.

Last night Our Jean, dinner lady extraordinaire, cooked up this little feast.

Sweetcorn and coriander fritters on a bed of lettuce with avocado, pepper and tomato salad and chorizo and balsamic dressing, and to boost the super qualities she sprinkled on some super seeds.

Look at the presentation, you can tell she's been swotting up on 'Dinner Lady Weekly'.

Delicious, we wish we hadn't been little piglets and gobbled it all down, we could be having leftovers for lunch.

Is it lunch time yet? I'm half starved 'ere.
